Long Term Review

I’ve been running in the RX:CCD for nearly 400 miles and wanted to leave a follow-up since most reviews are written when the shoe is still new.

For context, most of these miles were logged at 240–250 pounds, so this shoe has handled a heavier runner through consistent training.

Around 275 miles, the SCF foam softened slightly, but this felt more like a full break-in than breakdown. The ride remains stable, energetic, and predictable, with a bit more comfort on longer runs without losing its character.

The fit has also stood out over time. The toe box through the mid-foot offers a great balance of structure and room, accommodating foot swelling on long runs without pressure points or sloppiness. The BOA system keeps everything secure without feeling restrictive.

Durability has been excellent overall. The upper and BOA system still look and function like new with basic cleaning. I did have a small section of outsole rubber begin separating, but customer service quickly advised using contact cement, which resolved the issue completely with no further problems.

At nearly 400 miles, this is still my primary road shoe, and I expect another 100–200 miles before retirement. That’s impressive durability for a performance trainer, especially at my size.

If you want a premium performance trainer that holds up deep into its lifespan, the RX:CCD has delivered.

Happy Feet

Love my new RX:CCD - was lucky enough to get in on an extra run of sizes once they were sold out. Great stability and cushion. Really enjoy slipping on my RX:CCDs and heading out for a run or taking them for a twirl on the treadmill!

Excellent shoe

I had written off road running completely until I tried these shoes. After many years, ultras and a knee reconstruction surgery, my knees aren’t what they used to be. I really could only run trails for runs over 5 miles. But these shoes changed everything. Without plates, with the trail plate and with the stiff carbon plate, they feel quite different and work for different types of runs. Most of my runs range between 7:30-10:30 pace and these work wonderfully at all of my paces. The rocker is nice and it rolls well, nice and smooth, even for zone 2 runs. But they are also a joy at faster paces. I have about 120 miles on them and they feel and look like new. The cushioning is incredible. The upper is nice with good heel lock down. I wish I had gone true to size though instead of a half size down since my toes hit the front of the shoes on downhills. Also, the closure mechanism takes some getting used to and I still haven’t reliably found a setting that works for me the entire run. I usually need to adjust mid-ru since between a single click it can go from feeling loose to toe numbness. That may be because the size is off for me. If you’re still thinking about it, stop thinking and just buy them. They are worth every penny. It’s allowed me to clean out the 8 other road shoes I was cycling between before and made me look forward to my road runs again as I build toward a 100 miler later this year.

By far the softest most comfortable shoe I have ever owned.

Best shoes out there

I’ve been getting back into fitness and running for the last couple of years, tried several different shoes, the Speedlands are definitely the best shoes I’ve found so far and it’s not even close.
